CondeNast Portfolio.com Launches (Beta)

CondeNast launches Portfolio.com. The website looks great and the design is clean. There’s a lot of content, although I found their video a little lacking. I am not quite sure about the Feedroom partnership, but again the site is in beta.

I look forward to seeing the magazine.

Mergers and Acquisitions – A novel by Dana Vachon

I am not quite sure when I will get around to reading the book, but I found the marketing website pretty clever. It does look like a good read.

Update: I just pre-ordered the book and will be reading it on arrival. Given NYT’s blow by blow chronicle of the author’s night out, I am not expecting much other than a good beach read.

Is Google a Media Company?

YES! Great article on Gigaom today concerning Google’s recent and unsuccessful efforts to strike content deals with the major media companies, on behalf of their YouTube division. We will see which of the larger media companies will take the bait loads of cash and sacrifice long term growth for short term revenue.
